1. DO NOT BUY FOLLOWERS

Buying followers can be a quickly way to inflate numbers of your profile on Instagram but it is a fake manner that does not add value. The accounts that are added to your following in the best of the cases do not bring any interaction and only increase the number of followers, which by itself, is not indicative of anything. In the worst case, Instagram will eliminate your account in one of their usual practices.

2. DO NOT USE A WEIRD NAME

It is good to be creative but being easy to recognize is key to being found. The Instagram search tool is not the best so it is easier to have a simple and recognizable name.

3. DO NOT PUT YOUR PROFILE IN PRIVATE

Unless it is a personal account that you want to keep away from the eyes of strangers, an account should not be private. It is quite obvious. If you want to be known and reach the largest number of people, putting your profile in private mode will only be a barrier that some people will prefer not to beat.

4. DO NOT BE A PASSIVE OBSERVER

If you want to grow on Instagram it is not enough to be a passive observer. You have to follow other accounts, comment and encourage feedback. If you adopt a low activity profile, it is much easier for users not to notice the existence of your account.

5. DO NOT USE WRONG HASHTAGS

Hashtags are a very useful tool within Instagram. They allow us to classify content, find what we are interested in and other people can reach our content if they are searching it. If you have abused hashtags that nobody will look for in the Instagram search engine, you will be wasting this tool- Try concise things that you would search for yourself.

6. DO NOT FOLLOW SOMEONE AND STOP FOLLOWING HIM AFTERWARDS

Following someone and then stop following him to increase the followers/followed ratio is a very common practice. Follow the people that really interest you and try to build a relationship with them.

7. DO NOT UPLOAD MUCH CONTENT AT ONCE

It’s much better to space the content instead of making a massive upload in a few minutes. In this way, we will not saturate our followers, and the algorithm will not have to deprioritize our posts in the feed of others.
